The fisherman was competing in the Mulwala Classic at Lake Mulwala on Saturday when he reeled in not one, but two cod on the one lure.
Mr Blow had caught a 48-centimetre cod when a 93-centimetre cod tried to make that fish its meal.
He said he knew something was up when he suddenly felt more weight on the line as he reeled in his catch.
And it wasn’t the first unusual catch for Mr Blow in recent times.
A few weeks ago, he was fishing with his son at the same lake when they reeled in a huge 1.2-metre cod that had taken both their lures.
But Mr Blow is not confident that he’ll make a hat trick any time soon when it comes to unusual catches: he says he’s never had anything like the past two happen in his previous 30 years of fishing.
