The under-17 squad to compete at this year’s Association Championships was announced on Tuesday, with six clubs represented. The squad will play in the annual Shepparton tournament this Sunday and the Golden City event in Bendigo on May 6.
“The big one for us will be to do well at NV Association Championships in Bendigo on May 20 at Golden City,’’ Keighran said.
“We need to qualify one or two to gain a berth in the Association Championship Finals on June 17 at the State Netball Hockey Centre.”
Bree Heiden, who is representing the BFNL under-17 squad for the third consecutive year, will captain the team.
Sophie Shoebridge, who is playing her second year at this level, is vice-captain.
Heiden and Shoebridge are playing senior netball at BFNL level and have represented North Central at the state titles.
