Twenty-six club members, aged from under-eight to 46 years, will see in action in Sunday’s tournament, which is being hosted in Bendigo for the second time.
Several home-town martial artists are expected to contend for titles.
About 200 competitors in total have entered the event, including a host of current and former Victorian, Australian and world champions.
They will compete for titles in kata, non-contact and full contact.
The championships have drawn a star cast, with special guests including 9th dan Ivan Zavetchanos, who founded Kyokushin karate in Australia in the 1960s, and Grandmaster Terry Lim.
Competition at Flora Hill Stadium starts at 10am for ages under-six to open in form and non-contact. Full contact fighting starts from 1pm.
Fundraising on the day will benefit Bendigo Health Foundation, which is the event’s community partner.
