Clohesy, who led the Superoos to consecutive grand final appearances in 2016-17, could only draw positives from their narrow three-goal loss to the Mean Machine in round one.
“There were more positives than negatives last Saturday given our whole attacking end were pretty new,” she said.
“It was nice to have that competition; I think that brings out the best in our netballers.
“When you look at the loss, it was only three goals, which is really only one turnover, so there’s nothing to set alarm bells ringing.”
A new-look front-half for the Superoos included Golden Square recruit Lucy Morcom, Sarah Ludeman and Jess Pay.
Inclusions in defence included Georgia Anderson and Kate Potter.
The Superoos have been dealt an early injury blow, with their captain Gabrielle Marlow set to miss the clash against the Demons with following a knee injury in round one.
They will also be without the injured Tahnee Cannan and both of their coaches, with Clohesy unavailable through family commitments and joint-coach Kylie Piercy currently overseas.
The injured Marlow and three-time league best and fairest Laura Hicks, who is not playing this season, will share the coaching duties for the day.
Clohesy echoed sentiments expressed earlier in the week by Calivil United co-coach Karen Pascoe that regardless of ladder positions, the Demons and Superoos always brought the best out in each other.
“As I have said to the girls, as long as we work on our plays rather than focusing solely on winning, we will be okay,” she said.
“We’re building for an entire season.
“It will be an interesting season with plenty of new players coming in. You can’t plan too much for the opposition (early in the season) as you don’t know a lot about them.
“But we need to use the first half of the season to give ourselves a chance of playing finals again.”
Calivil United enter the contest on a high following a 63-42 win over Marong, with Christie Rogers, Teigan Redwood and Kellie Brunker in immediate form.
In other games, Maiden Gully YCW gets a chance to build on its excellent first-up win over Bears Lagoon-Serpentine against Marong, and Pyramid Hill hosts the Bears at Mitchell Park.
Bridgewater has the bye following Inglewood’s withdrawal from the A-grade competition, as does Newbridge.
