The Braves prevailed in a thriller in overtime to defeat Ballarat Rush 69-66 at the Minerdome.
O’Toole and Appleby combined for 17 rebounds in solid all-round performances.
Hayley Harrington and Elisa Pica each scored 10 points.
Jake Willcocks with 24 points and seven rebounds was the standout for the Braves men in their 78-88 season opening loss to Ballarat Miners.
