After 10 years of playing senior footy with the Redbacks, the Wedderburn local steps up to senior captaincy role for the first time.
“Cam has been the back bone of the Wedderburn side for many years and definitely leads by example.’’ Wedderburn coach Danny Benaim said.
“He is a tough competitor who will never give in until the siren. When Cam has the ball he is definitely a hard man to take down.”
Benaim said the new-look Redbacks were looking forward to a strong 2018 campaign.
“It is an exciting time for the Redbacks as we have just gone through an amalgamation of our football, netball and hockey clubs,’’ he said.
“The club is now all under the one umbrella and looks to a competitive 2018 season in all sports.”
The 2018 season starts on April 14. The Redbacks are at home to St Arnaud.
