Construction is expected to start in the coming months for 8000 premises in parts of Maiden Gully, California Gully, Eaglehawk, Myers Flat, Sailors Gully, Ascot, Epsom, East Bendigo, White Hills and Huntly.
Head of NBN local Victoria and Tasmania Ebony Aitken said all rollout areas will receive a mix of technology.
“NBN will be providing access to fast broadband services through a combination of fibre-to-the-node and fibre-to-the-curb technology in these suburbs,” she said.
“Construction of the NBN fixed line network in the City of Greater Bendigo is expected to be complete this year, with homes and businesses able to order a plan from a phone or internet provider.”
Last year, Member for Bendigo Lisa Chesters claimed that only areas in Eaglehawk would receive the superior FTTC, but the technology is being rolled out in other parts of Bendigo in addition to Eaglehawk.
More than 41,000 premises have access to the NBN in the City of Greater Bendigo.
