Free children’s activities were the order of the day, with an inflatable water slide proving to be a particular hit.
City of Greater Bendigo staff handed out balloons and there was a sizeable queue for the barbecue.
Members of the Huntly Fire Brigade ran games for children.
Sandy Young, of the Bendigo Northern District Community Enterprise, said the event had been more successful than the inaugural Huntly Family Fun Day in 2017.
She said the event had been organised especially for children and young families, in response to feedback from the community.
Kristy Bennett, of the City of Greater Bendigo, said the event was in keeping with the Greater Bendigo Municipal Early Years Plan.
She said the council had committed to provide a range of free, family friendly events as part of the plan.
The event, which finished at 3pm, was organised by the council in partnership with the Bendigo Northern District Community Enterprise and other community groups.
