It was officially opened on January 23, 1868, to much fanfare as dignitaries travelled from across the state to mark the event.
This Saturday, the Redesdale community will replicate the fanfare with a day of toasts, re-enactments, archival videos and refreshments to celebrate the bridge’s 150th birthday.
There will also be the presentation of a commemorative quilt created by the combined ladies of Redesdale and Mia Mia.
The festivities begin at 11am at the Redesdale Hall.
