Northern Rivers looked down and out when they slumped to 9-75 chasing Metropolitan West’s total of 116.
Broadford’s Riley Mason and Shepparton’s Pat Cormican combined to add 42 runs for the final wicket to see Northern Rivers over the line in thrilling style.
Mason made 28 not out and number 11 Cormican made 24 not out.
Earlier, Shepparton’s Ethan Baxter (3-8) and Sandhurst leg-spinner Kayde Howard (3-32) took three wickets each for Northern Rivers to lead a fine team bowling performance.
Northern Rivers play Metropolitan South East Bayside in Wednesday’s semi-finals at Melbourne University.
