Melbourne man Antonios Crocaris, 83, has died in hospital from injuries after he was hit by an alleged car attack in Flinders Street last week.

His family spoke of their distress and love for their father and grandfather who they described as their "hero".
"Our father Anton had his life cruelly taken away in a senseless act of violence. These circumstances are devastating to our family. Dad is simply irreplaceable and we will never fully recover from this loss," the family said in a statement.
"He was a beloved husband of Elizabeth (dec), adored father of Freda, Tony and Bill, and cherished grandfather of Verity, Lysander and Jackson.
"Friend to all and proud citizen of Australia.
"Our deepest gratitude to the wonderful people of Melbourne and dedicated first responders who rendered him and others every assistance. Special mention to the caring staff of The Alfred Intensive Care Unit.
"Our Dad, our hero."
Mr Crocaris, who died about 11:30pm on Friday, was one of 20 people taken to hospital after the incident, including the alleged driver, Saeed Noori.
Mr Noori has been charged with 18 counts of attempted murder and one count of reckless conduct endangering life, but one of those charges is now expected be upgraded to murder.
Police allege Mr Noori was driving a relative's white Suzuki Grand Vitara at 4.47pm on December 21 when he pulled out of traffic on Flinders Street, drove down the tram tracks, and careened through the Elizabeth Street intersection, striking 18 pedestrians.
It is believed another man – a South Korean in his 60s – remains in a critical condition and is one of six other victims who remain in hospital.
The South Korean man is believed to be from the same family as another man in his 60s, and a four-year-old boy, who were also injured.
The South Korean consulate confirmed that all three were in Melbourne to visit a relative.
Nine of those injured in the incident were foreign nationals, from countries including Venezuela, India, China, Italy and Ireland.
Victoria Police said they were working through a long list of people who may have witnessed what happened.
"If you haven't yet been contacted by police, please remain patient while investigators work through the callers list," a police statement said.
Mr Noori, a 32-year-old Afghan refugee and Australian citizen with a history of drug and mental health problems, has been remanded to face court again on May 30.
At his most recent court appearance on Wednesday, , Magistrate John Hardy counselled Mr Noori to take medication prescribed for mental health issues.
"I'm familiar with those substances and I recognise some of them as being prescribed to people with mental health issues," he said.
"It is important that you consider to take your medication and I ask that you do that.
"Your best interests will be served if you continue to take medication that you're prescribed."
Mr Hardy also requested that Mr Noori see two Forensicare staff.
"They can only see you if you let them. That's your choice, but I would ask you to do that."
Mr Noori's defence barrister Tass Antos provided a media article to the magistrate, which he said made "specific reference" to Mr Noori's family address, including the street, suburb and photo of the home. He handed a copy of the article to the magistrate.
The magistrate placed an interim suppression order on publishing details about Mr Noori's address.
Victoria Police have urged anyone who witnessed the incident and feel they may need help to contact the Victims of Crime Helpline on 1800 819 817.
