If it’s because you struggled to sleep last night, then you’re not alone.
The mercury failed to dip below 23.5 degrees overnight, with Bendigo still sitting on 27.7 degrees at midnight.
It was the second hottest night this year, with the overnight low on January 8 a stifling 26.2 degrees.
Relief came about 3.30am with the temperature dropping to 23.6 degrees, before going back up to the mid-twenties.
At 8.30am, the city was sitting on 25.5 degrees.
"It was certainly an uncomfortable night after a warm day yesterday," Bureau of Meteorology senior forecaster Dean Stewart said this morning.
"With cloud cover after a warm day that puts a blanket on the temperature."
Today, we’re headed for a cloudy top of 34 degrees with the slight chance of a shower.
Elsewhere, Redesdale can expect a top of 34 degrees, Echuca, Swan Hill and Kerang 36, Birchip 35, Maryborough 33, Castlemaine 32, and Kyneton and Gisborne 30.
"Without as much sunshine around today houses won't warm up as much as yesterday," Mr Stewart said.
"It should be a better sleep."
Over the weekend, we can expect 27 degrees on Saturday, 30 degrees on Sunday and 28 on Monday in Bendigo.
On New Year’s Eve, pack a jumper because the forecast low is only 14 degrees in Bendigo.
