The classy Everington played in both the Storm’s 2014 and 2015 Bendigo league premierships, including winning the Nalder Medal for best on ground in the ’14 grand final win.
The 30-year-old was also a 2013 inter-league player for Bendigo and will be one of the elite on-ballers in the Loddon Valley next year.
Everington spent this year playing with Phillip Island in the West Gippsland league.
“He’s a proven midfielder and his pace and ball-use is going to be a really big asset for us,” new Bridgewater coach Dale Cameron said on Thursday.
“The general feel from the grand final (34-point loss to Calivil United) was the side needed a bit more pace and midfield depth, particularly to replace Zeb (Broadbent) and Marc (Lindsay), and go after an Everington-type.”

Cameron knows Everington well, with the new Bridgewater coach also having a background at Strathfieldsaye, including coaching the Storm to this year’s reserves flag.
As well as Everington, the Mean Machine has also previously announced the return of key forward Brad Rohde as an assistant coach.
Rohde played in Bridgewater’s seven flags in a row between 2010 and 2016 before playing in Strathfieldsaye’s premiership this year against Eaglehawk.
