BENDIGO has claimed its first medal in three years at the Little Athletics Victoria State Relay Championships.

Bendigo’s under-9 boys team took out bronze in the medley relay, which features two 100m legs, a 200m leg and a 400m leg.
The team featured Kai Norton (100m), Will Peterson (100m), Maurice Nihill (200m) and Harry Byrne (400m).
The quartet were seeded third with a time of 2:23.25 following the regional competitions, with the eight competing teams separated by just four seconds heading into the event.
Bendigo finished third behind Nunawading and Ballarat in a personal best time of 2:21.73.
The under-9 medley team was among 16 from Bendigo that made it through to the State Relays.
The under-9 girls 4x200m team of Tazma Ferrie, Brodie Vaughen, Shannon Storey and Chelsea Tickell also made it through to the final eight in their event.
