Forecasters are billing it as the “hottest day of the summer so far”, but tomorrow's scorching temperatures are expected to be short-lived.

In Bendigo, the mercury is tipped to climb to 39 by 5pm on Wednesday.
The same forecast is in place for Marybough, while Echuca is likely to register a temperature of 40 degrees.
Bureau of Meteorology Victoria senior meteorologist Rod Dickson said the weather was “nothing unusual” for this time of year.
“We're getting to that time of the year when we see the winds come round to the north dragging a lot of heat across Victoria,” Mr Dickson said.
But the heat event is predicted to be a passing on, with a cool change in the evening dropping the temperature by as much as 10 degrees.

“It will be worth leaving the windows open as you go to bed tomorrow night,” Mr Dickson said.
Still, the conditions have warranted a total fire ban in the Mallee and Wimmera regions.
CFA state duty officer Jamie Hansen said the declaration should act as a timely reminder that the fire season is upon us, and that people should be prepared.
“Tomorrow’s hot and windy conditions will make it difficult for firefighters to supress a fire should one start, therefore we are asking people to take heed of the Total Fire Ban conditions,” Mr Hansen said.
“People need to be aware of the increased fire danger and ensure their fire plan covers all possible contingencies.”
A “very high” fire danger warning is in place for the North Central and North Country areas of Victoria.
