As the city celebrates becoming the Regional Centre for Culture, Stella Levak plans to establish a series of after school classes for people aged five to 19 years.
Wonderoola has received support from Bendigo Artists Inc and the City of Greater Bendigo.
Sessions are expected to run for two hours and are planned for The Avenue Studios in St Andrews Avenue, Bendigo, from Term 1 next year.
Ms Levak said the $400-per-term initiative was inspired by a desire to help children and young people explore and express a sense of wonderment and appreciation for the wonderful.
“There is a great need, I reckon,” she said.
Bendigo Artists Inc received $5000 from the City of Greater Bendigo as part of its Community Grants Program.
BAI will provide the venue, equipment, materials and administrative support for Wonderoola.
