They were among dozens of cats who became the newest furry members of families across the state during the four-day ‘CatPacity’ adoption drive last weekend.
“We are thrilled that 168 cats found new homes over the four-day promotion period,” RSPCA Victoria chief executive officer Dr Liz Walker said.

There were about 40 cats in Bendigo available for adoption during the drive, which also aimed to bring attention to kitten season and the need for desexing.
“Cats have very little difficulty conceiving and giving birth, so nearly every undesexed female cat who is exposed to an undesexed male during the warmer months will become pregnant,” Dr Walker said.
“Many people don’t realise that cats can start breeding as young as five months. Some may breed up to five litters through spring, summer and autumn.”
Dr Walker said there were still plenty of “sweet, affectionate” cats available across Victoria.
