The heat speed restrictions will be in force between midday and 8pm.
On Thursday, Bendigo is forecast to reach 36 degrees, Echuca 37 degrees, and Castlemaine 33 degrees.
V/Line advises passengers to allow for extra time on their journeys, as trains may be delayed or replaced with coaches.
Heat speed restrictions come into force when temperatures hit 36 degrees, as the steel tracks expand in the heat.
Trains that usually travel up to 160 km/h need to slow down to at least 90 km/h on these days.
As of 7.25am Thursday, there had been no reported service changes or delays.
