Highway patrol units patrolled the roads leading in and out of the Elmore Events Centre since Thursday, with thousands flocking to the five-day electronic music festival, Earthcore.
While final results from the blitz won’t be known until the operation finishes, highway patrol units had uncovered 70 offences by early afternoon on Tuesday.
Among them were eight positive drug tests, one drink-driver and two people caught speeding. A further two people refused to accompany police back to the station after testing positive to drugs.
Senior Sergeant Ian Brooks said the figures did not include offences detected by the booze and drug buses.
“The behaviour of some of the people who attended the festival was less than satisfactory but the majority were pretty good from a traffic point of view,” he said.
Six highway patrol units were sent to the event each day, along with booze and drug buses from Melbourne, combined with a heavy police presence inside the venue.
