Allies secretary Bob Garritty said wet weather kept some riders away but that he hoped the event would still raised about $7000.
“If not for the weather we could have raised about $2000 more. We only had about 75 bikes because the rain but people still came along,” he said.
The event saw an auction of donated goods as well as raffles and barbecues to raise money for St Vincent’s.
The money will be converted into Long Gully IGA food vouchers (that exclude alcohol and cigarettes) for families in the region.
“Everything raised here goes to people in central Victoria. It will be handed out to customers who need it for meals from Christmas to New Year,” Mr Garritty said.
“We also have a van full of toys that people have donated.”
“This event is in its 16th year and in that time I think it would have raised between $80,000 and $90,000 in cash and toys. A lot of hard work but club is dedicated to it.”
