Six shows from Wednesday to Saturday will include aerial and daredevil acts along with animals, magicians and jugglers.
Ringmaster Damian Syred said it has been two years since Circus Royale visited Bendigo.
“When we are heading back to Victoria we always include Bendigo. The shows are always well received and popular,” he said.
“There have been a few changes since the last time we were here and it is the final week of our tour, so it will be the last shows for some of the performers who are leaving.”
Mr Syred said new aerial and magic acts had been added since the show was last in Bendigo two years ago.
“The Globe of Death is the crowd favourite. It is an act that gets you on the edge of your seat and we have some new tricks for that to get the audience excited,” he said.
“We also try to pick aerial acts that haven't been seen over and over before. Julia arrived on tour early and does the tissue act, which is quite popular.”
Congratulations to Brooke, David, Giulia, Lauren and Ron, who have won family passes to the circus through bendigoadvertiser.com.au!
Queenslander Julia Burey has been working in the live performance industry for nearly 10 years.
She started out working with ponies and horses before taking up aerial work as a hobby.
“I have worked overseas in different circuses and touring horse shows,” she said.
“Animals are my true passion and have taken me all over the world. But while working with a circus, I started playing around with aerial work. There's a lot of hours, sweat and hard work that goes into what we do.”
As well as her aerial act, Ms Burey presents the Welsh Mountain Ponies at Circus Royale.
“The ponies work together in a routine and I only use body language and verbal cues to convey the manoeuvres they do,” she said.
“There is a definite trust and respect between me and the horses.”
Circus Royale has shows from Wednesday to Saturday at 7.30pm. Matinee shows are on Saturday at 4pm and Sunday at 1pm.
