The 23-year-old travelled to Thailand last week and scored a knockout win over accomplished local fighter Adisai Chantan.
It was Morgan’s fifth professional fight and his second in Asia.
He remains unbeaten, with four of his wins coming by knockout.
Chantan, who at 188cm is unusually tall for a super lightweight, boasted a 5-1 record going into the showdown against the hard-hitting Australian.
His Vinton Street Gym trainer Gary Connolly said it was Morgan’s toughest fight to date.
“His opponent fought bravely, with great determination, but Brad’s power and work rate wore him down and he was KO’d early in the fourth round,” he said.
“The event was telecast live to an estimated audience of 10-million and was attended by one of the most influential men in Asian boxing Naris Singwangcha, who was very impressed with his performance.
“Like all our guys, Brad has a lot on his plate with a young family, work and training, so to come away with a fourth round KO against a tough and determined opponent is a great effort.”
Morgan was accompanied in Thailand by head-trainer Pat Connolly and cornerman Troy Kovacs.
The fight was part of a big Narongwas Promotions card, staged in the ancient city of Sa Kaeo, near the Cambodian border.
It was Morgan’s first in nearly 12 month. He previously fought in the Philippines last December.
Morgan is scheduled to have his next fight early next year in his hometown, on the first of three big boxing promotions to be staged in Bendigo in 2018 by VSG Promotions.
“We have already locked in several Asian boxing stars and are planning to showcase all our local professional fighters,” Connolly said.
The date, venue and fight card will be announced at next month’s event launch.
