A Girton graduation begins with a thanksgiving service at which students light a candle. The symbolic gesture reflects Girton’s school song, which asks students to “take our torch and hold it high”.
After the customary signing of school shirts, the students then share lunch and a final assembly with their parents.
Performances from other year levels within the school are offered to farewell the year 12 cohort.
A formal valedictory dinner will follow, but not until exams finish on November 24.
