With so many wonderful pieces to draw from, La Trobe Art Institute has delved deeper into its rich cultural asset base and put together a new exhibition of artwork called A Gathering.
Opening tomorrow and on view until 26 November, A Gathering includes work by contemporary artists such as Sam Leach, Chris Bond, Sonia Payes and Heather B. Swann alongside work by historically significant Australian artists like Norman Lindsay, Robert Jacks and Tommy Lowry-Tjapaltjarri.
The exhibition explores relationships between genres, styles, artists and eras, providing a complex web of connections that are displayed throughout the whole venue.
Early next month, the exhibition will launch with a special event planned for the Bendigo arts community to meet and mingle.
