Sell won the $20,000 feature race with six-year-old Penny To Sell.
It was the mare’s second straight win following a 2000m win at Ballarat on September 24 and her sixth in total from 38 career starts.
She was ridden to perfection by Chris Nicol, who issued a challenge to the early pacesetter and racer favourite Not To Know on rounding the corner and hit the front half way down the straight.
Not To Know was chasing a third-straight win for her trainer Mitchell Freedman.
The seven-year-old gelding entered the race fresh from a win in the Sheep Hills Cup at Warracknabeal on September 2, but had to settle for second place.
Penny To Sell’s victory was trainer Sell’s sixth win of the 2017-18 racing season.
Sutton Grange’ Brent Stanley, Bendigo’s Aileen Vanderfeen and Kyneton’s George Osborne all trained winners on the eight-race card.
