The highly-fancied Storm rallied from a one-goal deficit at three quarter-time to win 9.19 (73) to 10.4 (64).
The Storm will play Eaglehawk in the second semi-final next Saturday night, while the Bulldogs face the winner of Sunday’s Kyneton versus Sandhurst elimination final in the first semi-final.
The Storm didn’t help themselves by kicking poorly in front of goal.
They didn’t have a multiple goal kicker for the night, with star forward Lachlan Sharp held to one goal by Square veteran Clayton Anderson.
Kallen Geary was outstanding for the Storm across half-back in the first three quarters and then turned into the match-winner in the final term when released forward.
Sam Heavyside, Sam Simmons and Harry Conway impressed for the Storm, while young ruckman Harry Crone had a great battle with Matt Compston.
Square did a lot of things right, but ran out of puff in the final quarter and struggled to get the ball forward of centre.
Dylan Johnstone kicked four of Square’s 10 goals, while Jack Geary and Anderson were their best.
