Wilson will fly to Townsville this Sunday ahead of the 2017-18 WNBL season with the two-time national champion Fire.
Her departure will come just one day after the star point guard lines up for Bendigo Lady Braves in Saturday’s SEABL national grand final in Melbourne.
Wilson ended a more than 15-year absence from competition netball by joining the BFNL Bulldogs during the pre-season and debuted in a round win over reigning premiers Kangaroo Flat in April.
She has missed the bulk of the second half of the season with a thumb injury sustained in the Lady Braves’ June 24 win over Frankston Blues.
Wilson said it was known from the moment she joined Golden Square that her availability for finals would always hinge on when she was required in Townsville.
“That said Golden Square is in with a good chance and hopefully they can get the win this first week of finals,” she said.
“Up until I missed a whole chunk of time with my thumb, I really enjoyed it.
“Golden Square has an awesome group of girls and to be able to play with my sister Andrea and Gabe (Richards) has been a fun experience.
“It’s something I will certainly look to do in the future as well.”
Golden Square meets Gisborne in Sunday’s qualifying final at the QEO, with the winner to advance to a second semi-final showdown against top-side Sandhurst the following week.
