On Wednesday, Bendigo residents can take free CPR lessons from St John Ambulance Victoria and its mobile CPR Lab.
The lessons will take 10 minutes and will be held in Hargreaves Mall between 12pm and 3pm.
St John Ambulance Victoria says only 23 per cent of Victorians are trained in CPR and feel confident to respond to an emergency, and only 2 per cent feel very confident in their skills.
But every minute that passes without CPR for a person in need of it, greatly diminishes their chance of survival.
The first aid service will also have 300 free first aid kits to give away.
