The Dragons top this year’s rankings for the most wins across the three grades of football and five divisions of netball with 106 from their 134 games.
Sandhurst had previously finished No.1 for home and away wins between 2009 and 2014, but slipped to second and third the previous two seasons.
The Dragons finished 19 wins clear of the season’s biggest improver Eaglehawk (87), while Strathfieldsaye (86) ranked third.
Sandhurst is the only club to have all eight teams participating in the finals.
Among the eight Dragons’ teams in the finals are six that have finished in the top three and have the double chance.
Sandhurst was the top ranked netball club across its five teams with a 64-16-2 record, while the best performed club on the football field was Strathfieldsaye.
The Storm’s seniors (15-3), reserves (15-3) and under-18s (15-1) won 45 of their 52 games and all finished either first or second.
It will be another Bendigo-based dominated finals series.
Of the 40 teams that have qualified for finals, only six come from country-based clubs – Gisborne (four), Kyneton (one) and Maryborough (one).
For the fourth year in a row Castlemaine doesn’t have a team in the finals.
