My 19-year-old daughter Chantelle dislocated her knee and was picked up by ambulance and transported to Bendigo Health emergency.

I followed the ambulance and the care taken whilst driving her was amazing.

They took corners so the vehicle didn't move unnecessarily and found smooth parts of the road as well.

Upon arrival at hospital so much care was taken and they never left her side until well and truly after their handover.

This being her first accident/injury, the immense pain was made so much easier by these kind and caring ladies and a wonderful reassuring caring and very gentle man.

Because of the stress she was in, and as a mum, I completely forgot their names but won't forget their care.

God forbid either of us was ever in a life-threatening situation, I would wish these wonderful people to be on the scene.

Thank you from both of us.

The government is to spend $122 million on a voluntary, non-binding postal plebiscite on equal marriage.

The Japanese ceased fighting on August 15, 1945 and on September 2, 1945 formally surrendered to the Allies in a ceremony on the decks of the USS Missouri in Tokyo Bay.

Australian Prime Minister Ben Chifley announced the end of the war against Japan on August 15, 1945; this date is known as VP Day (Victory in the Pacific).

The Bendigo District RSL Sub-Branch Inc will be conducting a commemoration service to mark the 72nd anniversary of the end of the war in the Pacific.

Almost one million Australians served in WWII – 40,000 of them had died and many thousands were wounded or injured in the course of their military service.

The commemorative service will be held in the Memorabilia Garden of the Bendigo District RSL Complex, 73-75 Havilah Road, Bendigo on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at 5pm.
