Senior meteorologist Scott Williams from the bureau’s extreme weather desk said gusts of up to 100km/h could be expected.
“Those winds are going to come in early tomorrow morning, probably around daybreak or just before and expect them to last for much of the day,” he said.
Locations which may be affected include Kyneton, Ballarat, Geelong, Melbourne, Wonthaggi and Bacchus Marsh.
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
- Move vehicles under cover or away from trees;
- Secure or put away loose items around your house, yard and balcony; and
- Keep clear of fallen power lines.
