The singer and keyboardist was one of eight acts to perform in front of 500 people at the Theatre Royal last Friday night.
As well as a $500 cash prize, Pearson also advances to the regional finals of the competition.
“Maya is not only incredibly talented, she also has a fantastic stage presence,” Mount Alexander Shire’s youth activities officer Jodie Hearn said.
“We are really excited to see her compete in the Battle of the Bands regional finals, with the chance of progressing and playing at the St Kilda Festival in February.”
Castlemaine solo artist Lilly Betts took out second place while band Stop That Mammoth! finished in third place.
“We had such a diverse and supportive audience – from young babies to grandparents – and everyone had a great time,” Ms Hearn said.
“The headline act The Seduceaphones had everyone up and dancing.”
