Quarry Hill moved into fifth spot on the back of its 21-point win over Eaglehawk.
The Demons led from start to finish in their 10.13 (73) to 8.4 (52) triumph.
Kyneton edged out country neighbour Castlemaine by 19 points.
Only eight points separated the two teams at half-time before the Tigers kicked clear to win 7.7 (49) to 4.6 (30).
Strathfieldsaye kept Maiden Gully YCW Eagles goalless in their clash at Tannery Lane.
The Eagles defended stoutly, but the Storm were too good, 7.8 (50) to 0.3 (3).
The top half of the ladder dominated the under-18 youth girls division matches.
Top-of-the-table Kangaroo Flat maintained its unbeaten status when it defeated Kyneton by 47 points.
Third-placed Castlemaine had too much firepower for a gallant Eaglehawk.
The Magpies relished the wet conditions and won 5.3 (33) to 1.5 (11).

In the final game of the round, South Bendigo scored one of its most impressive wins of the season when he outclassed North Bendigo 10.18 (78) to 1.0 (6).
In the under-15 youth girls division, Sandhurst moved to top of the ladder when it beat Strathfieldsaye by 52 points.
