With three rounds remaining in the Loddon Valley league season, the Bulldogs – who haven’t missed finals since 2003 – sit one game outside the top five.
They surrendered their position in the top five to Mitiamo last week when they were belted by 67 points, with Saturday’s assignment a match against bottom side Inglewood.
“We’ll be looking for a really strong response on Saturday… last week wasn’t acceptable at all in regards to our effort and willingness to compete,” Fawcett said on Friday.
“It has been a frustrating year where we haven’t been able to get the consistency we want, but we’ll keep working at it.”
• Saturday’s games – Calivil United v Marong, Newbridge v Bridgewater, Inglewood v Pyramid Hill, BL-Serpentine v Maiden Gully YCW. Mitiamo bye.
