Serpentine police officer Senior Constable Dale Lewis said investigations were continuing into the cause of the crash, which saw SES members have to free one driver from the wreckage of her car.
It appeared a utility crossed over the centre line and collided with another car and truck headed south on the Loddon Valley Highway, he said.
The police officer said the drivers’ injuries were not life-threatening.
Debris was scattered over the highway for more than 200 metres around the crash site.
EARLIER: The Loddon Valley Highway is closed at Serpentine after a two-car collision.
Police believe the crash occurred when a northbound utility crossed over the centre line into the path of another car and a truck.
One passenger is being flown by air ambulance to a Melbourne hospital.
More to come.
