Robert Bakes has been appointed Golden Square’s new coach for the 2017-18 BDCA season.
Bakes played in Golden Square’s four flags in a row between 1996 and 1999 and has recently been a member of the BDCA board, which has included a stint as vice president.
Grant Connelly has taken on the role of assistant coach, while Scott Johnson will be the club’s training co-coordinator for what will be its centenary season.
Golden Square, which has been busy on the recruiting front, has also unveiled a new logo designed by long-time player Michael Cook.
