Aboriginal elders from across the Loddon Mallee region have come together at the annual NAIDOC luncheon in Bendigo.
The event is held each year to give elders the opportunity to catch up and celebrate NAIDOC Week, which officially ended on Sunday.
For Cheryl Whitton and Aunty Iris Johnson, NAIDOC Week is a recognition of Aboriginal peple as the original owners of the land, and a celebration of that recognition.
“It means a lot to us,” Ms Whitton said.
Aunty Nellie Moore enjoyed the luncheon because it was an opportunity to catch up with friends and meet new people.
For Rose Kirby, from Robinvale, the event was the chance for people to enjoy time with their family and friends.
