Evans, a 15-time A-grade premiership player with Strathdale, was the recipient of a Pride of Hockey Award during last month's national Hockey Week.
It was recognition of his services as a player, umpire, coach and administrator.
Evans, who started playing summer competition hockey in 1984, boasts a comprehensive list of achievements from his time in the game.
He represented the Central Vic Blazers from 1993-2010 and was part of the club's State League 4 premiership in 1996 and team of the decade (1993-03).
Evans, a long-time country week representative, coached Strathdale to A-grade men's titles in 2012, '13 and '14.
He has served on various club and association committees, including stints as president, secretary and treasurer at Strathdale.
Evans is the Tigers' current men's club captain and became a life member in 2010.
