The Spirit have announced the re-signing of 32-year-old Richards, who holds the club record for games (214), points (2740), rebounds (1697) and blocks (142).
“I am extremely proud to be part of the Bendigo Spirit,” said Richards, a dual WNBL championship player with the club.
“As I get towards the end of my WNBL career it’s super special to have the opportunity to be a one-club player.”
Richards was a foundation member of the Spirit in 2007-08 and – apart from a break in 2009-10 when she took the season off – has been a permanent fixture since.
“Gabe will play an important role for us this season coming up against some of the best defenders in the world,” Spirit coach Simon Pritchard said.
“We believe that her experience and confidence will allow her to at least match it with the best and her leadership around the team will also be important.”
