The Hawks meet South Bendigo at Canterbury Park, but it was North Bendigo - not the Bloods - who the Hawks beat on that day.
Coached by Alan Gordon, Eaglehawk was captained by Wayne Naughton.
Joe Benbow, who was team manager in 1987, classed the '87 premiers as one of the best under-18 teams he had seen in Bendigo league football.
"All these kids went on played senior footy - not all at Eaglehawk, but everywhere," said Benbow, who is in his 60th year of involvement at Eaglehawk.
"There was some standouts among them - Kenny Bell, Wayne Naughton, Chris Lloyd, Wes White, Hobbsy - Timmy Hobbs, Timmy Dingfelder, Shaun Williams - all good players."
Players will have an informal gathering at the Courthouse Hotel in Eaglehawk on Friday night, with formal proceedings to kick-off Saturday afternoon at Canterbury Park.
It is expected several former players will make the trip back to Bendigo, potentially including Andrew Curran who is now living in Port Douglass.
