The Hindsight Club has given headspace $10,000 because, as founder Brendan Baker explained, they thought it was important for young people.
headspace Bendigo program manager Jenny Singe said the money would be put towards training staff to deliver a program in schools that would help young people, particularly boys, regulate their anger and other emotions.
Community engagement worker Ben Keath said cultural expectations meant young men sometimes acted out with aggression rather than emotionally when under strain.
He said the program was part of a wider effort to effect a cultural shift that would make it OK for young males to express emotions and seek help when they needed it.
Ms Singe said given that acting on impulse sometimes saw young people hurt others or get into trouble with the law, a program that taught them to think before reacting was important.
