The CV Blazers’ Victorian League 1 and reserves teams went down to two determined Geelong outfits on Saturday at the Garden Gully Hockey Complex.
The Vic League 1 Blazers had their chances but were unable to convert, going down 7-0 to Geelong.
Hannah Vibert played a standout role for the Blazers in defence.
The reserves went down 5-3 to Geelong after leading 2-0 at the half-time break.
Club stalwart Sally Anderson, who celebrated her 250th game, showed her class and determination when she scored a consolation goal for the Blazers with 10 seconds remaining after a brilliant individual run.
Other goal scorers for the Blazers were Leila Padgham and Tracey Johnson.
The Blazers will be looking for a much-needed win in both grades when they travel to Melbourne next Saturday to take on La Trobe University.
