Despite a chilly forecast of only 13 degrees, the pre-school was packed with children and parents enjoying the 40th anniversary of the fair. The day is the not-for-profit pre-school’s only fundraiser and organisers hope the proceeds from the day will beat last year’s total of $19,000.
Parent and fair co-ordinator Claire Everton said the money raised would go towards new playground soft fall surfaces and a sensory garden.
“With weather like this, the day is going brilliantly,” she said.
“We just want to thank all the businesses who have supported us – the generosity of the Bendigo community is just amazing.”
Attendees were treated to a jumping castle, mobile play zone, face-painting, rock star hair studio, buried treasure, craft, lucky boxes and children even got the chance to sit in a Bendigo Highway Patrol car. CV Dance Studio also surprised the crowd with a flash mob.
