This Sunday, the Bendigo Family Nature Club will host an exploration of the fungi growing in the area for children and their “respective adults”.
Experienced field guides will take participants through the Oak Forest at Harcourt to learn about different types of fungi and their place in the environment.
The event is not for food foraging, so participants are asked not to harvest for consumption.
Amanda Reddick said the club’s purpose was to reconnect kids with nature and get them out into the natural environment.
The club holds regular, free nature-focused events throughout the year.
