Rosa, 34, retired from the BFNL after last year’s grand final loss to Sandhurst.
The classy midfielder cited niggling injuries and work and family commitments as the reasons behind his retirement.
Rosa joins his great mate and former Golden Square team-mate Corey Jones at Wycheproof.
“We’ve been talking to Simon since before Christmas to see if he had any interest,’’ Wycheproof coach Julian Bull said.
“Simon’s been busy with work and he’s just had his third child, so he’s had a fair bit on his plate.
“He’s keen to have a kick with us, so he’ll come out and play a few games with us when he’s ready.
“We’re not exactly sure on how many games it will be or when he’ll start. We’re leaving that up to him.”
The Demons are flag favourites after starting the season with four wins from as many matches.
Rosa won four BFNL premierships with Golden Square and prior to that had a distinguished VFL career with the Bendigo Bombers.
“To have someone of Simon’s quality and experience joining the club is a big bonus for us,’’ Bull said.
“We fell down a bit last year in the finals with on-field leadership and he’s going to be able to help out our younger players.”
The Demons (4-0) return to action after the inter-league break with a home game against fourth-placed Donald (2-2).
