BENDIGO ironman Leon Griffin has achieved his goal of a top 10 finish in the North American Championship held in Texas.

Griffin finished in 7th position in a time of 8:04:04 in what was a 20 minute personal best.
The Championship was raced over a 3.84km swim, 179.2km bike leg and 42km run.
The race was won by American Matt Hanson in a time of 7:52:44.
“A top 10 was the goal and a good starting point in my return to the full Iron distance,” Griffin said.
