MORE COVERAGE: Bendigo Easter 2017
BENDIGO’S Easter Festival is a hit with many locals, but plenty of others from further afield have also been drawn to the city to enjoy the event.
Among them is the Vanderbom family from Ballarat, who were taking part in a Chinese dragon-making workshop at the Golden Dragon Museum on Friday afternoon.
Ross Vanderbom said the family was disappointed to have missed out last year, so came over for the day to check the festival out.
The Poole family decided to spend their four-day long weekend in Bendigo, travelling up from their home in Melbourne, and had enjoyed their time in the city so far.
Meanwhile Ararat’s Alistair, Mackenzie and Byron Johnson took advantage of the long weekend to both take in the sights and sounds of the festival, and visit family living in Bendigo.
Bendigo Tourism says the Easter Festival is the longest continuously running festival in Australia having started in 1870, and attracts thousands of people to the city over the weekend.
