Saturday’s best bet comes up in the opening event where King Of Merrimu looks the goods from box one. After showing plenty of speed in a recent Ballarat victory he is drawn to roll to the front and should prove too slick for his rivals.
Sunday afternoon’s meeting is highlighted by six feature races, including the $10,000 to the winner Golden City Concrete Pumping Gold Rush Maiden and the $12,000 to the winner Topcat Video Stayers Cup.
The Gold Rush Maiden final is chock full of future stars, but the box draw gives slight favouritism to impressive semi-final winner Midnite Starling.
Midnite Starling’s dam Proven Impala broke the 660m track record at Bendigo on this weekend four years ago when she took out the Stayers Cup and Midnite Starling will be looking to add an Easter feature event to the families list of honours.
In the Stayers Cup there are several chances, but from the inside alley Champion Exhibit is ideally placed to continue on his winning way.
The best bet on Sunday’s program is in the final event, with Kryptnion hard to beat. A winner of two out of three at Bendigo over the 500m trip, and ideally in box one, he will send punters home a winner.
