The Superoos haven’t beaten the Mean Machine since round 12, 2009. The 17-game losing streak, includes the past two grand finals.
Bridgewater’s shaky start to the season by its own high standard gives the Superoos a great chance of breaking the hoodoo.
“Bridgewater is still the benchmark of the competition and it’s going to take a big effort to beat them ,’’Mitiamo coach Justin Maddern said. “We’d take a massive amount of confidence out of it if we could win, but at the same time it’s only round three and it won’t be the end of the world if we don’t.”
In the other round three games on Saturday, Newbridge will look to return to the winners’ list when it hosts Inglewood, while Pyramid Hill travels to Marong.
