The White Hills netballer will add another milestone to her decorated career on Saturday when she plays her 350th game for her beloved Demons against Heathcote.
“The club is like a family to me,’’ Argus said of White Hills FNC.
“It’s so welcoming and everyone gets along with everyone. It’s such a family-orientated club and that’s so important, particularly for the netballers who have kids.
“Every Saturday there’s always people involved with the club who are willing to babysit while you play. Things like that make you want to keep playing.”
Argus started with the Demons as a junior in 1996 and has forged a stunning career.
The reliable defender has played in eight premierships with the Demons – A-grade (2005), A-reserve (2004-2006), B-grade (2002, 2011, 2016) and C-grade (2000).
She’s won 10 White Hills best and fairest awards - A-reserve (2009, 2013, 2014), B-grade (2001, 2002, 2003, 2016), B-reserve (2012) , C-grade (1999, 2000) and was runner-up another four times.
She was crowned the HDNA B-grade league best and fairest award in 2001 and 2003 and was runner-up in the A-reserve league award in 2013.
“I’ve been very lucky to play at such a successful club,’’ Argus said.
“The club has always had good coaching and the right support on the sidelines.”
Argus said the 2006 season stood out as a career highlight.
“I played in the A-reserve premiership and all White Hills teams won their grand finals. It was pretty special,’’ Argus said.
“These days it’s a thrill to be playing alongside some of the girls that I used to coach in the juniors.”
